Barbara Kay Miller, 77, of Owatonna, formerly of Albert Lea, passed away on June 25, 2024. She left behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by her loved ones.

Born on May 21, 1947, in Albert Lea, MN, Barbara was a daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel (Sickels) Stiehl. On November 17, 1966, Barbara married Robert “Bob” Miller, and together they raised a beautiful family. Barbara attended New Richland High School and dedicated many years of hard work as a housekeeper at Naeve Hospital. Her work ethic and dedication were truly commendable. Known for her outgoing and authentic personality, Barbara was the life of the party, always bringing joy to those around her. She had a generous spirit and loved nothing more than to spend time with her family.

Barbara had a zest for life and enjoyed the simple pleasures – she loved shopping, having visitors, and sharing stories with loved ones. A true force to be reckoned with, Barbara’s spitfire personality and love for fun endeared her to all who knew her. She had a special knack for cooking, with her fried chicken and potato salad being family favorites. Barbara’s home was always spotless, reflecting her love for cleaning and having everything in order.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services, with Vicar Ashley Kuhlman officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Albert Lea.

Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her children, Diane (Todd) Miller, Brenda (Scott) Schumaker, Shelly (Bob) Baker, and Robert Miller (Heidi Markham); grandchildren: Nathan (Emily) Miller, Amanda Miller, Brittany (Tyler) Hammer, Valerie (Cody) Nemec, Cassandra (Dylan) Nemec and MaKenzie Spike; 7 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Arvis Miller and Diane Nesset.

In addition to her parents, Arthur and Hazel, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Miller; two brothers, Charles Wolf and Duane Stiehl.
