Dale Robert Anderson, 81, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 at his home in Albert Lea surrounded by his wife and son. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 7, from 1-3PM at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, MN.
Dale Anderson was born July 17, 1942 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Benjamin and Cora (Tasker) Anderson. He grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Central High School. He enlisted in the military on March 1st, 1960 at the age of 17, joining the Army as a medical specialist. He served in France for many years and finally retired from service August 28, 1963. After leaving the service, he worked as a maintenance supervisor at Seaboard Foods for many years. He married Nancy Rippentrop in 1964 and from their union came two beautiful children, Stacey and Terry.
Dale loved nature and thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, scuba diving, camping, and coin collecting. He was a member of the Eagles, Four Seasons Bass Masters, and the Oak Grove Gun Club. He enjoyed going on cruises, traveling to Texas for the winter, playing cards with friends and having get togethers with past coworkers. The thing he loved doing more than anything was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Anderson; son Terry (Jamie) Anderson; grandchildren Ashley Anderson, Taylor Anderson, and Lauran (Brock) McLeland; great grandchildren Joshua, Gunner, and Aiden; Aunt Martha Tasker; brother Jay Anderson, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Cora Anderson, mother and father-in-law Melvin and Helen Rippentrop, daughter Stacey Anderson, siblings Barbara Brundige, Julie Nelson, Gary Anderson, and Johnny Anderson; brothers-in-law Arlo Rippentrop and Jerry Rippentrop; sisters-in-law Patricia Radke, Ramona Rippentrop, and Jean Rippentrop.
