Sally Phillips

Sally Ann Phillips, age 92, formerly of Albert Lea, MN, passed away peacefully on May 29th, 2024, with family by her side. Born on June 19, 1931, to Mary Eileen Boys and Russell Boys of St. Peter, MN, Sally lived a full and meaningful life.
After graduating from St. Peter High School, she attended Mankato State, where she earned her teaching degree. In 1952, she married Bill Phillips, and together they raised six children. Sally was a dedicated teacher for 20 years in the Albert Lea School District, where she touched the lives of many students with her passion for education and personal support.
Sally was an active member of St. Theodore’s Church and volunteered at the Summer Bible Camps. She was also involved in the League of Women Voters and worked on Tim Penny’s campaign.
An avid bridge player, Sally participated in numerous bridge groups. She had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying camping, gardening, and tending to her flower gardens. She and Bill were members of the Audubon Society and Civic Music in Albert Lea. They cherished their time with the Stardusters dancing group and the Elk’s club until they left Albert Lea.
Sally was preceded in death by her sister Mary and is survived by her two brothers, Tom and Frank Boys as well as her six children: Bill, Ann, Bob, Barbara, Mary, and John. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her warmth, dedication, and love for her family and community will be deeply missed.
