CVB accepting nominations for 2024 Outstanding Senior Citizen Awards

The Albert Lea Convention & Visitors Bureau on Thursday announced that nominations are now open for the 2024 Outstanding Senior Citizen Awards. This prestigious recognition honors senior citizens who have made significant contributions to their communities through volunteer service.

The awards will be presented during the Freeborn County Fair, Wednesday, July 31. The Outstanding Senior Citizen Awards highlight the dedication and impact of senior volunteers who continue to give their time and energy to better their communities even after the age of 65.

Eligibility criteria:

    Nominees must be 70 years of age or older by June 1.

  • Nominees should be recognized for their volunteer contributions to organizations or the community after reaching the age of 65.

Nomination process: To nominate a deserving senior, complete the provided nomination form. Include detailed information about the nominee’s volunteer activities and their benefits to the community or organization. Feel free to discuss the nomination with the nominee to gather the necessary information. Nomination forms are also available online at www.explorealbertlea.com

  • Deadline for  nominations: July 19

Winners will be selected and recognized at the Freeborn County Fair. Each outstanding senior will receive a Minnesota State Fair Outstanding Citizen pin and two tickets to the Minnesota State Fair.
