Dale worked many years at Anderson Brother’s Construction, and then worked for the Brainerd School District for 29 years as a custodian at Washing Junior High until retiring in 1997. After retirement, he kept himself busy with many home projects, and loved playing in his gardens. He experienced raising chickens until he no longer was able to have them in the city due to the roosters waking up the neighbors. He turned his attention to raising rabbits because they were much quieter. Dale enjoyed traveling. His most memorable trips were the trips to Alaska during the summer to visit his sister Evelyn. He also loved watching sports on TV, but mainly the Twins, the Vikings, and Nascar. Dale moved to Albert Lea in 2017 so he could live closer to his daughter Susie.

Dale was blessed with two daughters, Sherie and Susie. He was very proud of them and talked about them all the time. His face always lit up when he was asked about his two daughters.
