Jerry Alan Copas, 72, of Albert Lea, MN went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 15, 2024 while holding his wife Cindy’s hand at Methodist Hospital in Rochester. Cause of death was Acute Myeloid Leukemia. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Bridge Community Church with visitation to be held for an hour prior to the service. Pastor Vern Harris will be officiating.
He was born August 30, 1951 to Jay and Dorine Copas in Indiana. He married Cindy Henderson on June 14, 2003 in Albert Lea, MN. He was blessed in so many ways in this life. God given talents, wonderful family and friends, and over all a fantastic life. He enjoyed tinkering with classic cars, riding motorcycles with friends, going out to eat, and spending time with important people in his life and their dog Harley. During his lifetime he had many careers ranging from a job search counselor to business owner, painter, handyman, and best of all retired.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Copas, Albert Lea, Sisters Sheila (Larry) Vohs, Linda Mixon, Joyce Copas, Sharon Waltz, Sister-in-law Lori (Mark) Froehling, Brother-in-law Greg (Pam) Henderson, Sister-in-law Marcia (John) Bennett, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jay Copas, Mother Dorine (Henry) Wozniak, Mother-in-law Arvella Henderson, and Sister-in-law Diane Henderson. In final service, Jerry made the decision to donate his body to the Mayo Clinic Donation Program for medical research.
