An Albert Lea man was charged Friday with two counts of indecent exposure in the presence of a minor under 16 after he was arrested Thursday evening at the Sibley Elementary School park.
Mauricio Gutierrez Espana, 29, was arrested on the gross misdemeanor charges after receiving a report of a man exposing his genitals at the park.
The reporting adult had been approached by two juveniles, ages 12 and 13, who reported that the man had exposed and was touching himself.
The officers spoke with Gutierrez Espana, who denied exposing himself to the children, but admitted two children were playing near him at the time.
Officers arranged for Gutierrez Espana’s girlfriend to pick up her children and placed him under arrest.
In court on Friday, District Court Judge Terrence Walters set Gutierrez Espana’s bail at $12,000 without conditions or $500 with conditions. Conditions included remaining law-abiding.
Online court records show Gutierrez Espana has posted the $500 bail.
He is next slated to appear in court Aug. 8.
