A motorcyclist was flown by helicopter to a Rochester hospital after a crash Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 35 near Clarks Grove.

Shawn David Rasmussen, 61, of Dodge Center, was reportedly riding a 2018 Harley FLHTK southbound on I-35 near milepost 19 at 4:34 p.m. when the motorcycle went into the median and crashed. He was taken to St. Marys Hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol report indicated the road was dry at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor.

Rasmussen was not wearing a helmet.

In addition to the Mayo Clinic helicopter, the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Clarks Grove Fire Department assisted at the scene.
