Let Inclusion Fly kite festival

Following a successful event in 2023 and groundbreaking ceremony in July, the Let Inclusion Fly kite festival for the All Together Albert Lea Inclusive Playground will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the field across from Edgewater Bay Pavilion at Edgewater Park. Enjoy a day of outdoor fun with giant kites presented by Great American Kites and Events as well as face-painting, games, a dunk talk, a raffle and food vendors. There is a suggested $5 entry, and people are invited to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to the event. Handicapped parking will be available at Edgewater, and others are asked to park at Southwest Middle School, where they will board a bus to drive to the park.

“From Pain to Power” with Ellen Saul

As part of the Dorothy Godtland Lecture Series, the Albert Lea Art Center will host a lecture, “From Pain to Power,” with author Ellen Saul from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Art Center. Therapist, writer and longtime Albert Lea resident Ellen Saul will share a roadmap she used to instill healthy boundaries in her life. This event is open to the public and free to attend.

Charlie Lewis “Reviving the Classics”

Charlie Lewis as Elvis will perform his show, “Reviving the Classics,” for the last time of the summer from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at American Legion Post 56.

Parkview Care Center carnival

Parkview Care Center of Heartland Senior Living in Wells will host a carnival from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the care center. There will be face painting, games, a dunk tank, a bounce house, concessions and more. All proceeds from the event will go to the Parkview Activity Department, which is hosting the event.

Cruise to the Cove

Wedgewood Cove, The Old Car Co. of Southern Minnesota and Dave Syverson Auto Center will host the 13th annual Cruise to the Cove from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Wedgewood Cove Golf Course. This will be a car show with food and drinks available from the restaurant and music provided by KB Entertainment. This event is free to attend.
