Silent auction benefiting Walk to End Alzheimer’s

St. John’s Lutheran Community will host a silent auction from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the St. John’s Fountain Lake campus chapel. Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the Albert Lea/Austin Walk to End Alzheimer’s coming up Sept. 21. Contact Kathy Woodside at 507-473-1013 with questions.

Live music with Eighth Hour 

Local band Eighth Hour will perform from 5:45 to 8:15 p.m. Friday at Good Shot Golf and Sporting Clays in Emmons. It will be an evening of music, food and drinks overlooking the golf course. Guests can play a round of golf before the entertainment begins for $20.

Pizza and live music at Lazy Acre Vineyard

End the summer on a high note and join Lazy Acre Vineyard for an evening of live music, pizza and wine Saturday evening at the vineyard. The Funky Pepperoni pizza truck will begin serving at 5 p.m., and Ramblin’ Ryne and the Jones Band will play at 6 p.m. The band plays a collection of roots, rock, blues, folk, funk, country and more.

Live music with Steve Boyken at Three Oak Winery

Three Oak Winery will host local musician Steve Boyken from 4:45 to 7:45 p.m. Thursday at the winery.  Steve plays a unique blend of classic guitar rock and MTV hits with his own unique acoustic spin. Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm will have their mobile unit to cook up fresh pizza.

Youth Night for Albert Lea girls’ soccer

It’s time for the Albert Lea High School girls’ soccer annual youth night at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the high school. All young athletes are invited onto the field to welcome players for their first home game. JV players will also be on the field with them during half time.
