For the fourth time, the Albert Lea football program will host the annual Scrimmagefest Aug. 24 at the high school.

The event is free and open to the public with multiple scrimmages on “The Gus” as well as the practice fields near the high school. Varsity, junior varsity and 9A teams from Albert Lea, Austin, Dover-Eyota, Fairmont, New Ulm and Byron will all be in attendance to tune up before the start of the regular season.

Play starts at 8:30 a.m. with the Tigers’ varsity squad remaining on the main field for all scrimmages. Transport to and from the practice fields will be available to spectators who need it.

Concessions will also be available including burgers, hotdogs, pizza, salad and chips, and must be purchased with cash.

Each team will get three scrimmages and will play 15 consecutive plays of offense and defense. There will be no special teams played and the ball will be placed at the 40-yard line after each score or turnover.

8-8:30 a.m.:
Warm up for all teams

8:30-9:30 a.m.:
Albert Lea vs. Dover-Eyota (varsity field 1)
Austin vs. Fairmont (varsity field 2)
Albert Lea JV vs. Dover-Eyota JV (practice field 3)
Austin JV vs. Fairmont JV (practice field 4)
Albert Lea 9A vs. Byron 9A (JV field 2)

9:30-9:45 a.m.:
Break and move fields if necessary

9:45-10:45 a.m.:
Albert Lea vs. New Ulm (varsity field 1)
Fairmont vs. Dover-Eyota (varsity field 2)
Albert Lea JV vs. Fairmont JV (practice field 3)
Austin JV vs. New Ulm JV (practice field 4)
Byron JV vs. Dover-Eyota JV (JV field 1)

10:45-11 a.m.:
