Gordon C. Wolff

Gordon C. Wolff, 81, of Anchorage, Alaska passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 7, at the Providence Alaska Medical Center surrounded by family and friends. Gordon was born June 26, 1943, to William and Edna Wolff (nee Klinker) in Chatfield Minnesota. He attended school in Albert Lea, Minnesota where he met Shirley Amundson. After graduation and trade school, he became an automatic transmission mechanic and he and Shirley were married in 1962. In 1969 they, along with their two young sons, David and Rodney, moved to Anchorage, Alaska looking for adventure with the great outdoors and hunting and fishing. He enjoyed his life in Alaska fishing, hunting, snow machining and later gold mining. He wasn’t one to join clubs, but he loved to socialize. He would meet friends at Gallos for Monday Night Football and other get togethers. He enjoyed many special occasions around the campfire. He worked for Professional Automotive and then for Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility where he retired in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, sons David and Rodney Wolff along with their families, including 3 grandsons, Michael (Rachael) and Sean (Tara) O’Donnell and Tyler Wolff along with their families, including 7 great grandchildren, Isla, Nora and Henry O’Donnell, Troy, Leia and Lincoln O’Donnell and Valerie Wolff. One brother Darrel (Karen) Wolff; his mother-in-law, Alitha Amundson; four brothers-in-law and their families, Warren (Ki) Amundson, Dale (Pricilla) Amundson, Larry (Joanne) Amundson, Alan (Susan) Amundson, and four sisters-in-law and their families, Sandra (John) Smoyer, Judith Hill, Debra (Ross) Miller, and Karen (John) Streff. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna Wolff and brother Wayne Wolff.

A service was held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Anchorage, Alaska.
