‘Building for the Future’ Albert Lea Healthcare Coalition gala

The long anticipated “Building for the Future” gala for the Albert Lea Healthcare Coalition will take place Saturday at the John and Susan Morrison Medical Plaza, formerly Herberger’s, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature live music, food and drinks, a cash bar, dancing and more. Tickets are $100 per person or $2,000 for a reserved table of eight. Tickets can be purchased at Leutholds, Cento, Between Friends and Homestead Boutique. St. John’s Lutheran Community 5K run/walk

St. John’s Lutheran Community will host a community 5k run/walk at 10 a.m. Saturday at the organization’s Fountain Lake location. Sign in will begin at 9 a.m. This is a fundraiser and will include 5k and one-mile options. To sign up or for more information call 507-473-2271. The Duttons Show in Alden

Enjoy an evening of music, comedy and fun at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Alden-Conger High School gymnasium for the Duttons Show. The Duttons perform a unique blend of diverse music, instrumental talent, dancing and comedy. Each family member plays six or more instruments. Tickets for the show are $25 for reserved seating, $20 for general admission and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at Security Bank in Alden, from Alden American Legion members and from Sons of the American Legion members.

Lazy Acre Vineyard annual pickin,’ stompin’ and sippin’ event

Join Lazy Acre Vineyard all day Saturday at the vineyard for their annual pickin,’ stompin’ and sippin’ event. This will be a special day of harvesting the year’s grapes as well as a celebration of friends and community. Picking begins at 8 a.m., rain or shine. There will be a free lunch for all pickers. In the evening, Nel’s Diner will serve dinner and live music will be provided by local band Somethin’ Country. RSVP to the event on Lazy Acre Vineyard’s Facebook page.

Back to school picnic 

The Wells Area Chamber of Commerce will host their annual back to school picnic at 5 p.m. Friday in the United South Central School commons. There will be grilled hamburgers, chips, cookies and water. Following the picnic, guests are invited to watch the Rebels compete in a varsity football game against Norwood Young America beginning at 7 p.m. This will be a free will donation event.
