Carol Jean Gilpin Anderson – age 83 of Lenoir City, TN passed away September 11, 2024 at her home. Carol was born and raised in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She retired from IBM after many years of service as an accounting manager. Carol was a former member and secretary of Smithville United Methodist Church. She was a faithful volunteer for her church and later at Roane Medical Center. Carol was an avid hiker and enjoyed being outdoors. She enjoyed playing pickle ball and sewing. Carol was a talented quilter and donated her quilts to local domestic violence shelters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Helen Gilpin, and her brother, Dan Gilpin. Survived by her husband of 60 years, David Anderson; sons, Grant Anderson (Elizabeth) and Reid Anderson (Suzanne); grandchildren: Samuel Anderson (Mackenzie), Timber Anderson (Jacob Hancox), Dean Anderson, and Jay Anderson; great-grandson, Leo Anderson; siblings: Paul Gilpin, Ruth Thomas and Jay Gilpin along with many nieces and nephews.
