Colleen Jacobson, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024, at Thorne Crest Retirement Community in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Born to Joseph and Agnes Hoffman on February 21, 1934, in Carroll, Iowa, she was known for her deep sense of family and her unwavering faith.
Colleen embraced her role as a homemaker, dedicating her life to nurturing those around her. She created countless cherished memories, particularly during the holidays and birthday celebrations. She was known to create desserts made lovingly for family gatherings, especially if they were celebrating her grandson Randy. Colleen also found joy in spending time outdoors, whether it was riding around checking the family crops or tending to her own garden, where she found happiness in helping others with theirs.
Colleen enjoyed traveling, with an Alaskan cruise being a highlight of her adventures. She and her husband, Glen, would spend winters in Arizona, finding warmth and joy in each other’s company. Fishing was another of her passions, along with playing cards and attending the county fair, where she delighted in music and indulging in funnel cakes. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events; she could be heard through the crowds cheering “hit me a home run”. Colleen’s strong faith was an integral part of her life and she was active in church events, where she formed lasting connections and friendships.
Colleen’s legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren, including her son Kenneth Moe (Cindy), and her grandchildren Melissa Moe, Bobbie (Randy) Zincke, Michael Moe, and Coral Moe. Her great-grandchildren Caiden McCoy, Rhyder Moe, and Anthony Moe, along with great-grandson Wayne Koepsell, will fondly remember the time spent with their grandmother. She is also survived by one brother Glen (Bessie) Hoffman of Arizona.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband Duane Moe and also by her second husband Glen Jacobson; daughters Karen Moe and Karole Moe; her sisters Vivian (Jim) Zimmerman, Gladys (Leon) Krammer, and brothers Milton (Diane) Hoffman and Dale (Virginia) Hoffman.
Colleen Jacobson’s warm spirit and loving nature touched the lives of many, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
