Albert Lea had hopes of getting back to .500 against a winless Rockets team as the final third of the season approaches.
The Tigers host the 13-5 Raiders of Northfield Tuesday before a road trip to Owatonna on Thursday.
Alden-Conger

Recap: After suffering their first loss of the season at the beginning of the week, the Knights were in hotly contested battle again Thursday night, eventually coming out on top of Cleveland in a five-set thriller.
The Knights won the first set 25-19 before falling behind with two straight losses in the second and third sets, 15-25 and 24-26 both in favor of Cleveland.
Backed into a corner, the Knights rallied to take the fourth set 25-18, and finally the fifth and determining set 16-14.
Alden-Conger will travel to Rochester Saturday morning to compete in a tournament against numerous other teams from around the area.
United South Central

Recap: The Rebels split their matches this week, winning Monday night against Maple River but running into a tough Waterville-Elysian-Morristown team Thursday, falling 3-0.
United South Central was led in kills by Madison Passter with six, while Hannah Warmka and Alivia Brugger each had five. Passer and Karly Koehler each had double digit digs, Koehler leading the way with 16 while Passer totaled 11. Eleny Korn was all over the court racking up 18 assists on the night.
“Good battle tonight, but WEM is a solid squad,” said head coach Joe Kuechenmeister. “I give them a lot of credit for their serving and defense, and that made life tough for us all night. We struggled to find ways to put the ball on the floor, and that had a lot to do with the sound defense they played.”
The Rebels are back in action Saturday morning when they travel to Nicollet where they will take on several other area teams.
NRHEG

Recap: The Panthers also split their two matches this week getting swept by Jordan Tuesday night before bouncing back with a 3-1 road win against Blooming Prairie Thursday night.
After being 1-1 through the first two sets of the night, NRHEG cruised to a 25-15 third set win and a 25-18 fourth set victory.
Gabby Schlaak was the only Panther with double digit assists on the night, totaling 14 through the four sets. Camryn VanMaldeghem was close with nine. VanMaldeghem was also the digs leader with 11. Addy Stadheim put up a staggering 33 set assists for her teammates in the win.
Head coach Bethany Tennis said it was a loud and raucous environment to play in but her team played well in the adversity.
“We are always looking to improve our consistency throughout the sets and maintain both the energy and skill level that we know we are capable of,” Tennis said. “In the huddle, the girls knew that we had a tough battle with communication ahead of us but we had leaders that stepped up to that challenge.”
The Panthers travel to Tri-City United Saturday morning for a tournament.
Glenville-Emmons

Recap: There were no stats available from the Wolverines most recent matchup Thursday when they hosted Kingsland.
It was a battle where they came up just short of the victory ending in a 3-2 loss, the same result as the first time they took on Cleveland earlier this fall.
Glenville-Emmons hits the road this Saturday for their next action when they play in a tournament at Southland.
Lake Mills

Recap: The Bulldogs kept their stranglehold of the Top of Iowa West conference standings with a 3-1 win over North Union Tuesday night.
Multiple Bulldogs recorded double digit kills including AveryEastvold who led with 13. Cara Sauer, Bailey Dagestad and Addison Frank each tallied 10. Tenley Kesler and Regan Eastvold combined for 43 assists, Kesler finishing with 24 and Regan Eastvold with 19.
Avery Eastvold also had 13 digs to lead the Bulldogs. Five others combined for a total of 18.
The Bulldogs will play again in the tournament Saturday morning in Nevada.
Northwood-Kensett

The Vikings are having a tough season up to this point and will need to play their best sets of the year to have a shot at taking down conference rival St. Ansgar, when they meet up for the first time this season Tuesday night.
