Kathy Marie Anderson (October 4, 1953 – September 9, 2024)
Kathy Marie Anderson, 70, a devout Christian from Albert Lea, Minnesota, returned to God after her battle with dementia while living at Traditions in Montgomery on September 9th, 2024.
She was born in Albert Lea in 1953 to Paul and Betty (Johnson) Anderson. Kathy attended school in Albert Lea before going on to get her nursing degree at Riverland Community College. Kathy worked as a nurse for many years and then decided to get her master’s degree at Mankato State University. She continued to work as a nurse in several different capacities throughout the years as she was devoted to helping others. She loved knowing that she was able to help another person. That selflessness extended to her personal life, too. Kathy was kind, caring, and generous, traits reflected both at home and when out working in the medical field.
Kathy was a devoted mother to James, Justin and Jenna, her pride and joy. She always said they each changed her life for the better. She had fond memories of the family times they spent together. She loved her grandchildren, and she cherished the moments she got to spend with all of them.
Kathy was a devoted Christian who cherished her Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. She attended many different churches in the area and took solace in knowing the Lord was watching over her and her family. She was a believer in the power of prayer, and you would find her praying for people every day. Her Christian values informed every aspect of her life and molded her into the beloved person she was.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Betty (Johnson) Anderson and her grandson Declan Drescher, who she will meet again in Heaven, and is survived by her children James (Amy) Dahlke, Justin (Courtney) Drescher and Jenna (Nick) Drescher, 9 grandchildren and her siblings Edward (Judy) Anderson, Deb (Rick) Madson, and Steve (Diane) Anderson who know Kathy will be waiting for them in the afterlife.
A Celebration of life is planned on Sunday, November 10th at Edgewater Park Bay Pavilion in Albert Lea, MN from 1-4pm.
