Nine concerts for $50? That would be correct. It is Albert Lea Civic Music. As we kick off our 78th year, I invite you to take part in the best concert bargain in our area. The concert series starts in October and runs through April. The range of concerts includes jazz, classical, pop, rock and roll, show tunes and Americana folk music.
Here is just a sampling of the nine concerts: five in Albert Lea and four in Clear Lake. There will be tribute shows of Neil Diamond hits and a musical review of songs from the ’40s through the ’80s.
An a cappella group from Nashville will showcase their talents and you’ll hear a re-creation of a USO show performing songs from the ’40s through the 1960s. In addition, there will be classical music and show tunes performed on guitar, cello, piano and violin across three different concerts. Personally, I am looking forward to Admiral Radio in Clear Lake. They are a husband-and-wife duo that perform classic and original folk music.
You can purchase tickets for the Civic Music Concert Series at Hy-Vee, Arcadian Bank, Albert Lea Convention and Visitor’s Bureau office, Alden City Office, Austin’s Coffee House on Main, any Civic Music board member or online at www.AlbertLeaCivicMusic.com. Student season tickets are $15. Adult season tickets are $50, and a family season ticket is $105.
