Since Vice President Kamala Harris stepped up to be our candidate for president on the Democratic ticket, Democrats have become excited and engaged. We invite all Democrats to join us in our effort to protect our democracy, and turn the page on the last eight years of negativity, fear and anger pedaled by Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Put up lawn signs. You can get DFL Democratic signs at the Freeborn County DFL Office (224 S. Broadway, Albert Lea) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m., and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. If this is inconvenient, call 507-377-2853 and leave a message with your name, address and the signs you want delivered.
Donate to our local Minnesota House candidate Joe Staloch or to the Freeborn County DFL and get your money back using the Political Contribution Rebate Program. The money will pay for signs and other materials needed to run a campaign.
Volunteer to write post cards, make phone calls or door knock by calling or dropping by the DFL headquarter during the hours we are open.
And be sure to vote on Election Day Nov. 4 or vote early for the entire Democratic ticket: Harris and Walz, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Rachel Bohman for Congress and Joe Staloch for Minnesota House.
Call, stop by, volunteer. Our country, our democracy needs you.
Julie Ackland
Chairwoman
