Lynn was born on February 5, 1950, in Albert Lea, MN. She passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024, after a brief and brave battle with cancer. She was 74 years old. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Edgewater Bay Pavilion, with a light luncheon, in Albert Lea, MN.
Lynn lived a full life! She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1968. After graduation, she graduated from a Dental Hygienist Program in Minneapolis. She briefly studied Nursing at the Albert Lea Vocational Technical Institute as well. Lynn wore many hats in her life and had many interests. She loved to read, she was a wonderful home chef, and she loved to entertain at her home. She loved to decorate her picture window at home for every occasion and her efforts would draw admirable gazes from those passing by. Lynn was also a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan, despite them consistently letting her down. Go Vikes! Lynn loved her Fiancée, Jim, and they enjoyed their 23 years of life together. She loved doting on their two fur babies, Tobey and Sheba. She would spoil them daily by cooking homemade meals for them. They will all miss her dearly. Lynn was a resilient, witty, funny, independent and fiercely strong woman. Her smile could light up the room. Her laugh was contagious and lovable. After her cancer diagnosis, she faced her life with all of these same characteristics including humility and bravery. Lynn will be greatly missed. Her spirit will continue to inspire us and all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
Lynn is survived by her Fiancée, Jim Webb; her three children: Carole Carr, Derrick Avelar (Becky), Tomye Watts (Tim); her seven Grandchildren: Trevor (Taylor), Demitra, Riley, Vaughn, Cooper, Brecken and Marlowe; her Great Grandson: LeLand; her Sister, Linda Miller(Stan); her Ex-Husband Sal Avelar (David Hill); her Brother-in-Laws: Lee Verhagen (Linda) and Bob Webb (Cheryl); along with Aunts, Uncles, many cousins and friends.
Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Pauline Aske and her Sister, Darice Hamberg.
