For the past three months, the halls of St. Casimir’s Catholic School in Wells have been empty and silent. While the daily necessities continued, the building lacked that special spark that only a child’s presence can bring. On Tuesday, the doors of the historic building were opened for the 109th year of instructing children in their Catholic faith.
While academics are an important part of our daily lesson plans, the school’s foremost focus is on helping each child understand that they are made in the image and likeness of God, according to a press release.
“We are here to help each other become saints on our path to heaven,” the release states. “To do that, we must love God and one another. As our mission states, we will ‘pray, learn and celebrate together’ at St. Casimir’s Catholic School.”
The children were eager to meet their teachers, reconnect with old friends and welcome the new friends who have joined their classroom.
