Authorities say alcohol was a factor in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in Glenville that injured two people.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Robert Allen Markwardt, 60, of St. Charles was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on U.S. Highway 65 with a passenger at 5:18 p.m. when it left the roadway near First Street Northwest.
Markwardt was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for non-life threatening injuries.
His passenger, Monica Jean Fairchild, 60, of Lyle, also received non-life threatening injuries but was not taken to the hospital.
Neither Markwardt nor Fairchild were wearing helmets.
The State Patrol states alcohol was a factor.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Glenville Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene.
