Recap: It’s been a long time since the Albert Lea football team won back-to-back home games, but that’s exactly what they did last week, defeating Worthington 33-13.

All the scoring came from two individuals, juniors Teaghan Tolbers and Noah Teeter. Tolbers ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more, both of which were caught by Teeter. Defensively, Teeter added another score with a fumble recovery that was returned for a touchdown.

On top of his two touchdowns, Tolbers was eight for 12 through the air with 148 yards. He also led the team in rushing with 102 yards. Federico Rivera was the second leading rusher with 40 yards.

Teeter finished with four total catches for 100 yards, while Carter Conn was the only other Tiger receiver to finish with double digit yards receiving with 35.

The Tigers will look to ride their wave of momentum into Friday night when they travel to take on Waseca.

NRHEG

Recap: The Panthers three-game winning streak came to an end last week as they fell to the Bucs 28-12 on the road.

Harbor Cromwell and Alden Dobberstein contributed the touchdowns for NRHEG, Cromwell on a five-yard rush in the second quarter and Dobberstein on a 22 yard pass in the fourth quarter.
Dobberstein also led the team in rushing with 25 yards. Owen Bartlett led in receiving with 58 yards on two catches.

“A hard fought game,” said head coach Marc Kruger. “WEMs offense was able to really control the ball and line of scrimmage. We had a hard time getting off the field on defense with them creating some long drives. They really beat us on time of possession that way.”

The Panthers will look to get back on track against a struggling Bulldog team in Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in a special Thursday night game.

United South Central

Overall record: 3-3

Recap: The Rebels pitched a shutout Friday night on their way back to .500, defeating the Bulldogs 18-0.

Largely on the shoulders of Byron Getchell, United South Central punched the ball into the endzone three times. Twice on the ground from Getchell and one through the air from Getchell to Dylan Bonsack.

Getchell also led the team in rushing with 83 yards on top of his two touchdowns. Bonsack totaled 58 yards on two catches while Gavin Bird and Getchell combined for 24 yards on three catches.

United South Central takes on St. Clair/Loyola Thursday night in an attempt to make it a win streak and get back above .500 for the first time since their season-opening win.

Lake Mills

Overall record: 4-2

Most recent result: Win on the road against Belmond-Klemme, 27-13

Up next: At home against West Hancock (6-0) Friday night

Recap: The Bulldogs reeled off their third consecutive win last Friday when they took on Belmond-Klemme and came out on top, 27-13.

Lake Mills did the majority of their work on the ground as they rushed for 285 yards and four touchdowns. They were led by Carter Christianson, who had a staggering 34 attempts and finished with 180 yards and one touchdown. Nash Delger ran for 86 yards on nine carries and two touchdowns. Hayden Helgeson and Landon Price combined for 19 yards on eight attempts with Helgeson punching in for a touchdown.

A tough challenge lies ahead for the Bulldogs as they attempt to give the Eagles of West Hancock their first loss of the season at home Friday night.

Northwood-Kensett

Overall record: 2-4

Most recent result: Win on the road against Rockford, 46-6

Up next: At home against West Bend Mallard (3-3) Friday night

Recap: Full individual stats were unavailable for the game, but the Vikings dominated the Warriors to earn their second in of the season Friday night, 46-6.

The Vikings host West Bend Mallard Friday night in a homecoming celebration in which they look to make it three wins in a row.

Recap: No individual stats were available from this game. The Knights put up their highest point total of the season in a dominant win over Mabel-Canton last week.

They will have a good opportunity to add to their win total this week when they host Grand Meadow, who has one win on their record, Friday night.
