To this year’s Distinguished Alumni and Educators, who will be recognized at the Pathways to Success banquet.

Congratulations to the four Distinguished Alumni and the four Distinguished Educators for 2024, who will receive big honors at the annual Pathways to Success reception on Thursday at Wedgewood Cove.

The event is put on by the Albert Lea Education Foundation and Albert Lea school district and aims to recognize first, individuals who have graduated from Albert Lea High School and become successful, whether that is through business and economic endeavors or humanitarian or public service. Second, it recognizes teachers that have been especially influential in the lives of their students.

Albert Lea has had many wonderful teachers over the years and has also seen many success stories.

We congratulate all those who will be recognized this year.

To the organizers and presenters at the annual Big Island Rendezvous & Festival.

Thanks to all of the organizers and presenters who spend countless hours preparing and now executing the Big Island Rendezvous & Festival.

One of Albert Lea’s largest events of the year, the Rendezvous this year is in its 38th year.

It kicked off with Education Days, where hundreds of children from the region came to learn first-hand about history, and then it opened to the public Saturday and Sunday.

If you are a more visual learner, like having fun, enjoy eating good food or simply like listening to music, we encourage you to check out the Rendezvous this weekend.

A special thanks to the festival’s founder, Perry Vining, for his dedication over the years and the vision he had in bringing this event forward so many years ago.

Thousands of children have been educated during the Education Days over the years, and thousands more have been entertained in the public days. We thank you.
