Joy Diane Bjornstad

Joy Diane Bjornstad, 68, of Glenville, passed away on October 16, 2024, at her home.
Born on December 1, 1955, in Albert Lea, MN, Joy was a daughter of Marlene (Klukow) Jensen and the late Richard Jensen.
A 1974 graduate of Albert Lea High School, Joy’s greatest pride and accomplishment lay in being a devoted mother to her children, Kaleb, Justin, and Jessica. Over the years, Joy worked various jobs, including Cargill, and St. John’s Lutheran Community serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where she touched countless lives with her down-to-earth personality. Her simple yet joyful approach to life, coupled with a fun sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Joy held a deep appreciation for nature. She could often be found walking the trails of state parks or tending to her various houseplants and flowers. An animal lover, Joy had a passion for horses in her youth and had many special pets throughout her life. Her love for music, particularly the Beatles and Elvis were a testament to her vibrant spirit and zest for life.
Those left to cherish Joy’s memory include, her three children, Kaleb (Tracy) Bjornstad, Justin Bjornstad, and Jessica (Seth Kleven) Bjornstad; grandchildren, Kyra and Hailey Bjornstad, and Kade and Kian Kleven; her mother, Marlene (Klukow) Jensen; and a sister, Debra Jensen.
Joy was preceded in death by her father, Richard Jensen; paternal grandparents, Palmer and Florence Jensen; maternal grandparents, Lester and Vivian Klukow; and the father of her children, Jack Bjornstad.
A private memorial service to honor Joy’s life will be held at a later date.
