It’s election season, and if you are wondering who to vote for, for school board, I’ll tell you. You should vote for Kasey Wolters. Kasey is someone who not only cares about the school board, but who cares deeply about what is happening within the schools themselves. Has she been to practically every school board meeting in over three years? Yes. She was there to speak on behalf of parents about school lockdowns, mask mandates and possible curriculum changes. Most parents voiced their concerns on social media. Kasey went to represent and speak on your behalf. She met with parents and rallied support for concerns they had. Kasey showed up and, often, she was the only one. She was there — there for you, there for me, there for the parents. To say she cares about what is happening within our schools is a gross understatement. She was there for the process of hiring a new superintendent, again voicing concerns and representing the parents. She is keenly aware of what is happening on a district level whether it’s finances, or curriculum, or safety or school lunches. But she is also directly involved on a school level. She is the treasurer for the Lakeview Elementary School Organization (PTA, if you are old school). Kasey is not just involved from a leadership aspect, but she gets directly involved with what is happening in the individual schools, whether it is meeting with principals and teachers concerning bullying, or what they are doing to ensure security of the building and safety of the children in the event of a worst-case scenario. She cares how your tax dollars are being used, and she shows support on behalf of the parents by going out and doing the boots-on-the-ground work, not just reading about it. When you think about the board, when you think about who you should elect to represent you, vote for Kasey Wolters. You have someone who will actually do the work on behalf of the parents footing the bill, and the children who don’t have a choice. It’s up to you, but I want someone who is already putting in extra time and doing the work. I want someone who will fight for your kids as much as she fights for her own son. I choose Kasey Wolters.
