A candidate forum will give voters the opportunity to hear from the four candidates running for three positions on the Albert Lea school board in the upcoming general election. The forum will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The public is invited to listen live on KATE Radio or watch live on the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.

The event will be a closed forum, and community members will not be able to attend.

People are encouraged to email questions to the chamber at ChamberExec@albertlea.org prior to the event. No questions will be taken the night of the forum.

The candidates running for the seats in the Nov. 5 election are:

  • Mary Jo Dorman
  • Angie Hoffman
  • Neal Skaar
  • Kasey Wolters

This forum will offer an opportunity for the candidates to share their visions for the future of Albert Lea Public Schools, discuss their priorities for education and address key issues facing the district.

Voters will have the chance to hear each candidate’s position on topics such as student achievement, school funding, teacher support and community engagement.

Each candidate will have the opportunity to present their platform and answer questions from a moderator as well as questions submitted by community members. The forum aims to provide a respectful and informative environment where voters can learn more about the candidates and their plans to strengthen the district and enhance student success.

The forum is sponsored by the Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee, who encourages all community members to tune in for the event.

This will be a candidate forum — not a debate. Mike Woitas of KATE Radio will be the forum’s moderator.

Candidates will be allowed:

  • 1-2 minutes each for opening statements
  • 2-minute responses for each question
  • 1-2 minutes each for closing comments
