Fall luminary walk 

Enjoy the crisp fall weather from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday for a fall candlelight luminary walk through Myre-Big Island State Park. Participants should bring walking shoes and other weather-appropriate clothing, and a warm fire will be provided. A Minnesota State Park pass is required for this event.

Marcus Lere live music

Experience a night of nostalgic live music from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at Events at The Broadway. Musician Marcus Lere will perform a variety of 1990s and 2000s rock hits. Tickets can be purchased at https://bit.ly/48BJcaJ.

Burgers, birdies and board games 

Good Shot Golf and Sporting Clays in Emmons will host an evening of board games and food from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. There will be board games provided by Good Shot, but guests are also welcome to bring their own. Burgers and chicken baskets will be available.

Emmons SAL Veteran’s Day meal

The Emmons Sons of the American Legion will host a veterans appreciation meal from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Emmons American Legion Post 317. The meal will be available for a freewill donation, and veterans eat free. There will be pork chops grilled by SAL members.

Bring Your Own Lunch and Learn: The Ballot Counting Process

Those interested in the election process are invited to the Albert Lea City Council Chambers from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday for this month’s Bring Your Own Lunch and Learn. November’s session is all about the ballot counting process and will be taught by Freeborn County Auditor-Treasurer Kelly Hendrickson. She will highlight how election officials and judges tabulate and verify election results and the work poll workers perform to count votes.
