The Albert Lea Recreation Department invites the public to lace up their skates and glide into the holiday season with the following events at the City Arena located at 701 Lake Chapeau Drive:

• Turkey Trot on Ice will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 and includes skate rental. Enjoy music while skating and participating in the trivia contest.
• Public skate over the Thanksgiving weekend will be 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, 1 to 3 p.m. Friday and 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Admission for these sessions is $5 at the door with skate rental available for an additional $2. Save $1 by registering online at bit.ly/recreation-registration.

Registration is now open to learn to skate. Lessons will be held during time slots of 2 p.m., 2:40 p.m., and 3:20 p.m. Sundays from Jan. 5 to Feb. 9.

This program is designed for beginners ages 3 and up, including hockey players, with instruction tailored to skill level. The fee is $50 per skater, including skate rental (limited sizes available) and two passes for public skate. Register online at bit.ly/recreation-registration.
