Larry Marquardt, 72, of Hardy, AR, formerly of Albert Lea, passed away on October 25, 2024, in Batesville, AR.
Born on February 1, 1952, Larry was a cherished son of the late Roland “Rollie” and Florence (Fuhrman) Marquardt. Larry was a vibrant and adventurous individual who lived life to the fullest. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1971 and embarked on a journey full of experiences and adventures.
A free spirit at heart, Larry’s wanderlust took him to various corners of the country, from the sunny shores of Naples, FL, to the vibrant city of Fort Worth, TX, and the serene beaches of Panama City Beach, FL, before settling in Hardy, AR. He was known for his infectious enthusiasm and exceptional charm, making friends everywhere he went with his quick wit and warm personality.
A skilled handyman, Larry resided on a houseboat he was refurbishing, showcasing his knack for creativity and hard work. His love for the outdoors was unparalleled, evident in his hobbies of golfing, camping, and canoeing, as well as his passion for birdwatching, particularly sighting majestic bald eagles.
Aside from his adventurous spirit, Larry excelled in entrepreneurship, having previously owned a successful limo service, a construction supply company, and co-owning a computer salvage company.
Larry will be dearly missed by his surviving brother, Bob Marquardt, of Albert Lea, as well as his countless friends and acquaintances who were touched by his genuine kindness. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Roland “Rollie” and Florence Marquardt.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services with a visitation beginning at 10:00AM. The service will be livestreamed.
