Thomas John “Tom” Strehlow, of Albert Lea, died peacefully on October 29, 2024, surrounded by family. He was 66 years old.

Tom was born to Albert and Helen Strehlow on December 7, 1957, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He lived in Albert Lea throughout his life where he attended school, worked, and raised his family.

Tom greatly enjoyed his 28-year career as a real estate agent with Ken Leland Realty. In his earlier years, Tom worked as a bartender at the Holiday Inn and the Stables. He briefly owned TJ’s Ceramics, and worked at Streater for many years. Tom enjoyed researching, collecting, and tinkering with various antiques for his Victorian home.

He enjoyed spending time on his porch, newspaper puzzles, a good sweater, spending time in Duluth, MN, traveling to Disney World, watching Fox News, supporting the Minnesota Vikings, sitting with his cats, and eating dessert. Tom is the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, whom he cherished and will miss most.

Tom is survived by his wife, Marlene (Johnson); sons Kristopher Strehlow, Keith (Shantie) Strehlow; daughter Kate (Craig) Rosell; grandchildren Jonathon, Charlie, Walt, Audrey, Alistair and Hugh; and brother Jim Strehlow.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Strehlow; and his in-laws, Jim and Hazel Johnson.

A public visitation will be held Friday, November 8th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services in Albert Lea. His remains will be placed by his family during a private ceremony at a later date.
