2 injured in I-35 crash north of Albert Lea

Two people were injured Thursday evening after a semi and car collided in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 north of Albert Lea.
Scott Michael Anderson, 50, and Jennifer Anne Anderson, 49, both of Grimes, Iowa, were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Scott Anderson was the driver of the 2023 Nissan Altima that collided with a 2020 Freightliner semi, driven by Sami Jacob, 46, of Arlington, Texas.
According to the report, the crash occurred at 6:59 p.m. when the two vehicles made contact near milepost 16. More information about how the crash occurred or who is at fault has not been released.
The roads were snowy and icy at the time of the crash.
Jacob and his passenger, Najah Oriana Peavy, 26, of San Antonio, were not injured.
