Albert Lea Community Theatre on Tuesday announced auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons” at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center, 147 N. Broadway in Albert Lea.
“All My Sons” is a three-act play based on a true story.
During the war, Joe Keller and Steve Deever ran a machine shop that made airplane parts that were defective. The twin shadows of this catastrophe and the fact that the young Keller son was reported missing during the war dominate the action.
The love affair of Chris Keller and Ann Deever, the bitterness of George Deever’s return from the war to find his father in prison and his father’s partner free are all set in a structure of almost unbearable power.
Roles include the following:
Joe Keller, 60
Kate Keller, 50
Chris Keller, 32
Ann Deever, 26
George Deever, 31
Dr. Jim Bayliss, 40
Sue Bayliss, 40
Frank Lubey, 33
Lydia Lubey, 27
Bert, 8
Co-directed by Christy Fuller and Brian Mattson, performances will be March 13-22. Rehearsals will be scheduled on weeknights starting in January, with some weekend involvement closer to the performance dates. More information can be found on the ACT website, ACTonBroadway.com.
