While I have not lived in Albert Lea for many years, I enjoy keeping up on my home town through the Albert Lea Tribune. And Jennifer Vogt-Erickson’s article caught my attention. Her piece was clear and captivating — and aligned with my experience as I helped my aging parents, Clarence and Dorothy Schroeder, navigate the Albert Lea Mayo Healthcare system. I experienced an increasing decline in their care and heard firsthand from their providers the challenges they were facing trying to practice within the system. And it had nothing to do with undocumented immigrants. I am glad she is calling out the local representative on a false and hypocritical position. People proclaim to believe in Jesus Christ and his teaching. In this case — what would Jesus do and say?
