The Crown Jewels — A Tribute to Queen

The band The Crown Jewels will perform a tribute concert to the band Queen at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. The Minneapolis-based band will perform Queen’s greatest hits. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone or at the box office.

Dinosaurs take over the History Center

There will be an afternoon of dinosaur-themed fun at 1 p.m. Thursday at the History Center of Freeborn County. The event will begin with a showing of the movie “The Land Before Time.” Guests are invited to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite dinosaur plushie. Afterward, little ones can follow the dinosaur tracks to the interactive play area.

Scandinavian Ølfest

There will be a Scandinavian winter beer fest from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday at Worth Brewing Co. There will be brats, red cabbage, mashed potatoes and Kringla as well as the release of new beer, Öl Smoky. There will be live music by Pete’s Pool Hall from 4 to 6 p.m.

Kiester Firemen’s Relief Association annual fish fry

Support Kiester’s firefighters at their annual fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Kiester Community Center and Fire Department. Cost is $15 per person and $6 for children age 10 and under. Alaskan walleye, coleslaw, baked potatoes, garlic toast, bars and beverages will be served. To-go boxes will also be available. Proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing a new pumper/tanker.

Glenville-Emmons Booster Bash with music by IV Play

The Glenville Emmons Boosters will host the Glenville-Emmons Booster Bash from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Glenville-Emmons High School gym. A social hour for the event will begin at 5 p.m. Proceeds will support Glenville Days 2025. Live music will be provided by IV Play with DJ Kessel opening. There will be food provided by Mr. Taco and alcoholic beverages provided by the Glenville American Legion. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from any Glenville business or from Glenville Booster Club members. People must be 18 years of age or older to attend.
