The Alden-Conger seventh-grade boys basketball team won the Valley Conference tournament on Saturday. The Alden Conger seventh-grade boys basketball team participated in the Valley Conference seventh-grade boys basketball tournament on Saturday.

Alden-Conger defeated Madelia in the first round by a score of 36-13. The Knights were led by Bennett Korman with 12 points.

In the second round, Alden-Conger defeated Loyola Catholic by the score of 24 to 21. Preston Hendrickson led the way with 10 points.

In the Valley Conference championship game, Alden-Conger defeated GHEC-T-ML 34- 22 to become the 2025 seventh-grade boys basketball Valley Conference tournament champions. Leading the Knights was Trey Yost with 13 points.

“It was a great day of basketball,” said coach Neil Chalmers. “Our kids played really hard all three games and I’m really proud of them. Whether it was Trey and Ethan hitting the boards hard or Mason and Michael doing a great job in help defense, we always seem to have players in the right position.”
