Administrator’s Corner by John Double
We welcome everyone into the New Year with exciting opportunities, returning favorites and enriching learning experiences for all ages. Our winter/spring program guide is available online and was delivered to school district households during the last weeks of December. Take a moment to explore the many offerings packed into this session’s guide.
This year begins with a host of new opportunities. We’re introducing elementary after-school programs that will rotate across district buildings, providing unique opportunities for students throughout the area. Additionally, our winter/spring session features new music and STEM classes, a hands-on in-person cooking class, and a child care development-approved training series for child care professionals seeking required training hours.
Several popular programs are also returning. From defensive driving classes to the Kids Rock! Youth Climbing Club in the Rock Gym, there’s something for everyone. Our driver education program will offer new class sessions, and our daytime adventure trips include fresh experiences. Whether you’re interested in attending performances like “Grease,” “On the Road Again” and “37 Postcards,” or exploring destinations such as the National Eagle Center in Hastings or Lake Geneva, we have plenty of opportunities to engage and inspire.
For those setting New Year’s resolutions, we offer a variety of classes to help you achieve your goals. Looking to stay active? Check out our Zumba classes, pickleball sessions or the Rock Gym, which offers punch passes at special rates. Seeking more quality family time? Consider our Parent Night Out events for students in grades K-5. If organization is your focus, explore our classes designed to teach effective strategies. We also provide professional development courses and certification programs to help you grow personally and professionally.
Community Education continues to create opportunities for our community to gather, discover and grow together. Join us this year to explore new interests and revisit your favorite activities. We look forward to seeing you in our programs.
