The school board of Albert Lea Area Schools has begun the process of selecting a new superintendent and is seeking input from the community. To ensure a thorough and inclusive search, the board has contracted with the Minnesota School Boards Association to guide and assist throughout the process.

On Friday, the school board met to outline the search process. A key component of this effort is gathering feedback from stakeholders to help inform the board’s decision-making. Community members can engage in the search process in the following way:

Superintendent search survey

The school board invites all Albert Lea Area Schools stakeholders — parents, staff, students and community members — to participate in an anonymous survey open from Jan. 29 – Feb. 19.

  • Email newsletter signup

The survey is available online in English and Spanish at alschools.org.

  • Hard copies can be picked up at the district office in Albert Lea.

  • Completed paper surveys should be returned to the district office by Feb. 19 to be included in the results.

Following the survey deadline, MSBA will compile and present a summary of responses to the school board to help guide the selection process.

The school board values community input and encourages all stakeholders to participate in shaping the future leadership of Albert Lea Area Schools.
