Only a week remains until the deadline for nominations for the Tribune’s annual Citizen of the Year Award.

We have promoted the award for a few weeks now, and unfortunately we have not received a single nomination.

We know there are a lot of good people in the community who are making a difference — both on a large and small scale — and we want to hear about them.

Do you know someone who is making great strides in the community, whose efforts helped bring to fruition something spectacular this past year?

Do you know someone who is working behind the scenes on many efforts and who is the glue for making these projects actually happen?

These are the very types of people who deserve this recognition.

Please take the time to write up a quick paragraph or two about your nominee — make sure to include what they’re involved in, why they deserve the award and anything else you think would be pertinent for us to know as we consider the nominations.

We will judge the candidates more based on the initiatives and efforts they are presently involved in, rather than the organizations they used to a part of.

Thank you for helping us out in this fun cause. The winner will be announced in our annual Progress edition.

Send your nominations to news@albertleatribune.com.com.
