Iowa man injured after I-35 crash in Freeborn County

An Iowa man was injured Sunday morning after a vehicle crash on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County two miles north of the Iowa border.

Garret Dennis Hoeve Piechowski, 25, of Manly was reportedly taken to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester for injuries deemed not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash report stated Piechowski was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry south on I-35 at 8:55 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, went off the road and into the trees near mile marker 2.

The road was dry at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor.

Piechowski was listed as not wearing his seat belt.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, and Glenville Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
