Man injured in crash on I-35 near Clarks Grove

A Coon Rapids man was injured Saturday night after a rear-end collision on Interstate 35 near Clarks Grove.

Aaron James Miles, 38, was reportedly taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.        

The report stated Miles was driving a 2024 Chrysler minivan northbound on Interstate 35, along with a 2025 International semi, driven by Jermey Tyvon Smith, 24, of Kansas City, Missouri, when the vehicles collided at 9:58 p.m.

Roads were dry at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

The Clarks Grove Fire Department, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene.
