It’s been over 200 articles since I started what was a Tribune contest entry that I didn’t win. However, Sarah called and asked if I would consider writing on the Faith page. I jumped with joy and simultaneously had knots in my tummy — I had never done anything like this!

You have been so kind and encouraging to me, and my heart is grateful.

I think this is a good theme as we begin 2025. I desire to lean in more, to rid myself of much of the eternal pressure and hone in to God’s voice in my life.

I often bend to the world’s expectations. My calendar and I get caught up in the busyness of life. I want to take time to smell the roses more in 2025.

“Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” — Psalm 90:14.

I’ve put this verse by my coffee as a constant in my routine, and I am committed to reading this as I start each day in 2025. I invite you to join me in this simple morning reset, a challenge to choose to be content in all circumstance of life.

I am praying I can say daily:

“How high, how wide, how deep is the Father’s love for me. How high, how wide, how deep is the love of Christ in me.” — Stephen Petree.

As we journey together in 2025, may we each become more and more like Jesus in our words, deeds, actions, responses and thoughts. To God be the glory!

“So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,   and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” — Ephesians 3:17-19, NIV
