Tigers boys’ basketball falls to Wingers in high-scoring game

In a game where defense was hard to come by from both squads, the Tigers fell to Big 9 foe Red Wing by a final score of 108-103.

The Tigers struggled early in the first half, getting down by as many as 18 points. Junior guard Noah Teeter took over for the Tigers, bringing them back to cut the lead to nine at halftime, by scoring 21 points in the first half. At halftime, the Tigers trailed 58-49.

The second half was a lot of the same, but the Tigers never quit. With just three minutes left, the Tiger boys trimmed the Winger lead to one, trailing 93-92.

Down the stretch, the Tigers just couldn’t collect consecutive stops, ultimately falling by a final score of 108-103.

Teeter had a career night, scoring 37 points, while going 17-18 from the free throw line, both of which are career highs.

Junior guard Carter Conn also showed grit and leadership, scoring 26 of his own while also slowing senior guard JuJu Koehler, who is a top scorer in the conference to just 22 points, where 12 came from the free throw line.

Easton Schewe also continues to shine, scoring 16 of his own.

The Tigers look to regroup for a big section matchup at home today versus the Cotter Ramblers. Tigers fall to 3-12 on the season and 2-8 in Big 9 play.
