Watching games on the web could be better

Being able to download free music is useful, but why can’t it be the same with watching sports on the web?

There are already a number of Web sites that have the games on there for users to watch, but that comes at a price.

While I have no desire to purchase the NBA League Pass for $84.95 I still think it’s pretty neat to be able to watch some of the NBA action from my computer while possibly watching another game. I can see my computer screen popping with tab after tab of nothing but games.

Some of the packages range from $20 to $169. The NHL package comes in at a cool $169 and while it would be nice to watch four games at one time and be able to watch any game ever recorded, it seems like a steep price to pay for a one-year subscription.

Of course getting something for free is always great, but on the web it would seem that there would be a site like where many games were available. If you can find movies online, you should be able to find games.

I’m not saying everything on the web should be free but I would like to be able to watch games without having to pay. ESPN already shows the highlights of games on its site, why not create a site where you can watch the whole game if you want.

Of course, licensing comes into the equation and no professional sport is going to allow people to watch games simply for free as nice as it would be.

I’m sure there is a site out there that already provides entire games but I haven’t seen it. ESPN360 is close, but not everyone can get it.

TNT has started to offer live games on the web. TNT Overtime does allow the viewer to watch one of the Thursday night games TNT broadcasts.

It’s a good idea, but there should be more options.
