Poll: Minnesotans want a smaller gov’t

A large majority of Minnesotans lack trust in the federal government and more than half would prefer a smaller government with fewer services, according to the latest Minnesota Public Radio News/ Humphrey Institute poll.
But the responses sent a mixed message about how dissatisfied state residentsa are with the economy and government.
Pollsters interviewed 701 people between last Thursday and Sunday to try to gauge how Minnesotans feel about government and the state of the economy and how that sentiment might play out in this fall’s elections.
