The Lake Mills football team met up with the No. 2-ranked Emmetsburg Friday night and came away with a 59-21 loss to end the season.

The E-Hawks (9-0, 7-0) kept a perfect season intact and put up nearly 600 yards of total offense against the injury riddled Bulldogs (2-7, 2-5) in Emmetsburg.

Lake Mills led 7-6 after the first quarter when Tyler Rice scored from five yards out and Pedro Abreu converted the extra point, but Emmetsburg put 22 points up in the second quarter behind some strong running from Taylor Morris. Morris scored two of his five touchdowns in the second quarter and the E-Hawks entered halftime with a 28-7 lead. Morris finished with 174 yards rushing and Langston Jones added 189 yards and a touchdown.

Rice added a touchdown in the third quarter and Chuck Thorson scored in the fourth quarter for Lake Mills.

The loss ended the season for the Bulldogs while Emmetsburg will play South Winneshiek, Calmar in the first round of the playoffs Tuesday.
