Crossroads Community Hospice will offer volunteer training sessions this spring for anyone interested in becoming a hospice volunteer.
Sessions will be held May 24 through June 21, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the Crossroads Community Hospice office, 210 N. St. Mary Ave., Albert Lea. Training will not be held on Monday, May 31 because of the Memorial Day holiday.
Topics include an introduction to hospice, concepts of death and dying, understanding diseases and conditions, and psycho-social and spiritual dynamics of death and dying.
Anyone interested in becoming a hospice volunteer will be required to attend all sessions, but will not need to commit until training is complete. Continuing education credits will be offered to those professionals seeking to further their education.
