The Alden-Conger football team put up close to 500 yards of offense in a 33-8 win against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Wednesday in Janesville.
The Knights (5-3, 5-3) used a balance attack against the Bulldogs and jumped out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter.
Quarterback Lucas Kleinschrodt ran for a touchdown and threw two touchdown passes in the first quarter as Alden-Conger rolled into the section playoffs. Kleinschrodt finished 11-for-22 with 184 yards while the running game amassed 306 yards. E.J. Knight led the Knights with 128 yards and the team got a big lift as starting running back David Troska returned to the lineup after missing the last two games with a knee injury.
“It was a little pick me up and hopefully it keeps going into the playoffs,” Alden-Conger head coach Chad Mattson said of the win.
With the win the Knights have likely secured a first round bye and a No. 1 seed.
