MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Twins right-hander Scott Baker left the game against Tampa Bay after five innings Tuesday because of what the team is calling a mild right elbow strain.

Baker breezed through five innings, giving up one unearned run on three hits. He struck out three and walked one, throwing 62 pitches in the game. But Phil Dumatrait came out to start the sixth inning in relief.

The Twins say he will be evaluated today.

It’s the latest in a long line of injuries this season for the Twins. Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Jason Kubel, Jim Thome, Delmon Young and Denard Span have all spent long stretches on the disabled list, and the Twins have languished near the bottom of the AL Central division because of it.
