A special commission of the DFL Party has unanimously voted to uphold the decision to strip the party’s endorsement of Sen. Satveeer Chaudhary’s re-election campaign.
Party spokeswoman Kristin Sosanie says the commission reached its decision Sunday afternoon after about 90 minutes of deliberation.
The endorsement was revoked last month as part of the fallout from Chaudhary’s attempt during the legislative session to impose special fishing rules on a northern Minnesota lake where he owns a cabin.
Chaudhary’s attorney, Brian Rice, said the three-term senator from Fridley will not appeal and will stay in the race.
